Applications for the $200 back-to-school assistance for students are currently being processed, according to Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad. He confirmed that a majority of the applications have been completed.

The timeline for applications was extended to ensure that as many eligible students as possible could apply for this assistance, which is available to families with a household income of less than $50,000.

Professor Prasad highlighted that, including this year, the Coalition Government has provided assistance to around 200,000 students annually, totaling approximately $130 million in support. This year alone, over 200,000 students received assistance, with similar numbers expected in the coming years.

He emphasized the importance of timely support, noting that many families need help with the costs associated with enrolling their children in school, such as new books, bags, and footwear. This initiative serves as a crucial resource for parents preparing their children for the new school year.

Overall, this financial aid program not only eases the burden on families but also supports students in getting the necessary supplies and resources for education, fostering a positive impact on their academic journey.

This initiative reflects a commitment to education and provides a hopeful and encouraging situation for many families, demonstrating the government’s dedication to enhancing the educational experience for students.
