15 People Charged with 32 Sexual Offences in June: Disturbing Cases of Rape and Assault Dominate Prosecutions.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has reported that 15 individuals were charged with a total of 32 counts of sexual offences in June. Among the accused, two were juveniles, and ten of the fifteen victims were minors.

The victims included one male and 14 females, with six incidents involving familial relations between the victims and the accused.

In one case, a 15-year-old boy was charged with the rape and attempted rape of a 5-year-old girl. In another, a 13-year-old boy faced charges for the rape of a 12-year-old boy.

A 40-year-old man was charged with raping his 19-year-old niece, while a 33-year-old man was charged with raping his 15-year-old niece. Additionally, a 59-year-old man faced charges for the rape and sexual assault of his 15-year-old niece.

Another incident involved a 42-year-old man charged with the rape and indecent assault of his 14-year-old niece. A separate case saw a 43-year-old man charged with raping his 14-year-old niece; however, this matter was discontinued following the death of the accused.

Moreover, a 42-year-old man was charged with raping his 42-year-old wife, though the case was discontinued due to insufficient evidence.

Other incidents included a 79-year-old man charged with the rape and indecent assault of a 13-year-old girl, a 20-year-old man charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl, and a 38-year-old man charged with the rape and indecent assault of a 13-year-old girl from his village. There was also an 18-year-old man charged with the defilement of a 14-year-old girl.
