The residents of Ra raised $117,000 during the Siga Vou Kei Ra Day event, which took place on October 10 at Ra High School. This initiative, established in 2017, aims to gather funds for a scholarship trust fund to assist native residents of Ra and children with mothers from the province.

Organiser Ratu Josaia Niudamu reported that since its inception, the event has successfully raised over $400,000. He expressed that the goal is to reach $500,000, at which point they will implement the Deed of Trust with the scholarship recipients.

Mr. Niudamu emphasized the importance of education for the people of Ra, both locally and abroad. He stated that improving education in the community is crucial for breaking the cycle of poverty currently affecting the province.
