The iTaukei Trust Fund Board has allocated $100,000 to support two new enterprises in Korovou Village, located in Macuata. Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, emphasized that the funds aim to enhance the quality of life for local residents.

According to Mr. Vasu, a newly established homestay will be the first of its kind in the Macuata district, offering a welcoming accommodation option for visitors. In addition, a bakery will provide convenient access to fresh bread, reducing the need for villagers to travel long distances for daily necessities.

Mr. Vasu also highlighted the importance of community cohesion, urging residents to unite and ensure the success of these businesses. He noted the positive impact of these ventures on local employment, especially for the youth in the area.

Moreover, he expressed confidence that these businesses would not only serve the people of Korovou but also extend benefits to neighboring villages, fostering economic growth and enhancing local livelihoods.

In summary, the investment in these two businesses is set to create job opportunities, improve community services, and strengthen the economic fabric of the Macuata district, ultimately contributing to the overall development of the region. This initiative brings hope for sustainable growth and community collaboration, marking a significant step towards a brighter future for the residents.
