In September, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) announced that 10 individuals faced over 25 sexual offense charges. According to their monthly update on serious sexual offenses, these cases involved 10 victims, comprising two males and eight females.
Among the offenders is a 20-year-old man accused of raping his 10-year-old male cousin. Another case involves a 25-year-old man charged with raping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy. The ODPP reported six incidents in which the victims were related to the offenders.
In one instance, a 45-year-old man faced charges for raping his 16-year-old stepdaughter, although this case was eventually dropped due to a lack of evidence. A 28-year-old man was charged with the rape of his five-year-old niece, while a 29-year-old man faced two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving his 15-year-old niece.
Additionally, a 20-year-old man was charged with multiple offenses, including four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault against his 17-year-old cousin. A separate complaint involved a 29-year-old man charged with attempted rape and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl from his village, and another related to a 20-year-old man charged with raping an 11-year-old girl from the same community.
Two cases were dropped after discontinuances were filed due to insufficient evidence and the inability to contact or locate the victims.
