The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players for the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), which begins on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu stated that the team will prepare adequately before traveling to Churchill Park in Lautoka. They will compete in Group B of the Premier division, alongside Tavua and Savusavu.
Manu noted that Tailevu/Naitasiri has previously only secured the Senior division title at the IDC, and they are eager to capture the Premier division championship this time. He acknowledged the significance of the tournament as it marks the last competition of the year, and both teams will be aiming for strong performances.
“Definitely in a tough pool with Tavua, who have just been promoted,” he commented. “We will give our best shot. Most of our under-19 and youth players will be given a chance at the IDC to gain experience. We will certainly make an impact come game day.”
The IDC will take place from October 15 to 20.
