The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on its Under-19 players during the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), which is scheduled to start on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu stated that the team will prepare thoroughly before heading to Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Tailevu/Naitasiri is placed in Group B of the Premier division along with Tavua and Savusavu. Manu noted that the team has previously won the Senior division title at the IDC and is aiming for success in the Premier division this time around.
He recognized that both opposing teams will be eager to perform well as the IDC is the final tournament of the year. “Definitely in a tough pool with Tavua, as they have just been promoted,” he remarked, expressing confidence in his team’s capability.
“We will give our best shot. Most of our under-19 and youth players will be given a chance at the IDC to provide them with valuable exposure,” he added. He assured fans that the team will put forth a solid effort when game day arrives.
The IDC will take place from October 15 to October 20.
