The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players at the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), which begins on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu stated that the team would prepare thoroughly before heading to Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Tailevu/Naitasiri is placed in Group B of the Premier division alongside Tavua and Savusavu. Manu expressed that while the team has only secured victory in the Senior division at the IDC in the past, they are determined to claim the Premier division title this year.
He is aware that their opponents, Tavua, will also be looking to perform well, particularly since this IDC marks the conclusion of the football season. “It’s definitely a tough pool with Tavua, as they have just been promoted,” Manu noted. “We will give our best effort.”
The coach emphasized that most of the Under-19 and youth players will be given an opportunity to showcase their skills at the IDC for valuable experience. “We will definitely make an impact come game day,” he added.
The IDC will take place from October 15 to October 20.
