Fiji’s Ministry of Youth and Sports is hosting the South Pacific Youth Senior Officials Government Meeting, which commenced today in Suva. The meeting is chaired by Permanent Secretary Meli Nacuva, who warmly welcomed participants and expressed appreciation to the Secretariat of the Pacific Community for their support in organizing the event.
Nacuva emphasized the importance of the meeting in tackling the challenges facing the region’s youth and underscored the need for collaboration and cooperation to find solutions. He also highlighted Fiji’s unique cultural diversity and its renowned hospitality.
Participants were encouraged to make the most of their stay in Fiji and engage in meaningful discussions that would positively impact the youth across the region. The Chair of the Pacific Youth Council, Mahoney Mori, remarked on the historical significance of the meeting, stating that the youth are the beacon of hope for the Pacific. He extended thanks to the Fijian government for their traditional welcome.
Pacific Youth Council Vice Chair, Melissa Bule, also expressed gratitude for the warm reception and acknowledged the presence of senior officials from across the Pacific. She wished all participants productive discussions and beneficial outcomes from the forum.
