Javish Lal, an up-and-coming sprinter from Labasa, is currently considering offers from schools but has specific requirements before making a decision. The talented year eight student from Tabia Primary School showcased his skills by earning a medal in the under-14 category at the Labasa Primary Schools Athletics competition held at Subrail Park. Reflecting on his performance, Lal expressed his happiness but emphasized his desire for continuous improvement.

This isn’t Lal’s first time on the podium; he previously secured a gold medal in the U13 category at the primary school athletics national meet in Lautoka, attributing his success to the unwavering support and encouragement from his coaches.

Although he has attracted interest from schools in Suva, Lal is clear that any offer must include both a full scholarship and accommodation. “I come from a poor family, and it would be hard to live in Suva without proper support,” he explained. His father, Gitendra Lal, shares this concern, emphasizing the need for careful consideration regarding any opportunity for his son to study in Suva, as they would not be able to afford living expenses there.

Lal aims to secure an offer that provides not only educational prospects but also the necessary support to pursue his passion for sports. With strong determination and the right backing, he could achieve his dreams and inspire others from similar backgrounds.
