Viola Ravutubananitu, a Year Eight student at Tagitagi Sangam Primary School in Tavua, has achieved outstanding success, emerging as her school’s top scorer in the Fiji Eighth Year Examination. The dedicated 13-year-old secured an incredible score of 491 out of 500, attributing her accomplishments to the unwavering support of her family and her strong faith in God.

Originally hailing from Totoya, Lau, and with familial connections in Tavualevu, Tavua, Viola expressed heartfelt gratitude for the encouragement she’s received at home. “First and foremost, I thank the Almighty,” she stated, reflecting on her journey. “I am happy and proud that all my hard work didn’t go to waste. I began preparing at the start of the year, often staying up late to study and waking up early to revise.”

Viola’s success is also a tribute to her late grandfather, Aisake Ravutubananitu, whose memory inspires her. “When my grandpa passed away, I felt like I lost a part of me because he always supported me,” she shared. She remains grateful to her grandmother, Ro Vani Ravutubananitu, for her constant encouragement, and acknowledges her class teacher, Nazeel Ali, alongside the head teacher and school staff for their guidance.

With aspirations to attend Adi Cakobau School (ACS) next year, Viola remarked, “I am interested in attending ACS because it breeds strong and independent women.” Her dedication and perseverance have made her a point of pride for both her school and family.

This inspiring story highlights the importance of community support and personal resilience in the face of challenges. Viola’s achievements not only serve as a beacon of hope for her peers but also emphasize the potential of young students when they receive encouragement and nurture their aspirations.

Viola’s journey exemplifies that with hard work, faith, and support from loved ones, dreams can turn into reality.
