Dedication and hard work have paid off for Aanvi Prasad, who has emerged as one of the top students in the 2024 Fiji Eighth Year Examination. The Year 8 student from Lautoka Central Primary School achieved an impressive score of 491 out of 500 marks.
Reflecting on her journey, Aanvi expressed, “It was my dream to be the highest scorer, and I sacrificed for it.” Throughout the year, she set up timetables to organize her study schedule, demonstrating her commitment to achieving academic success. “With the sacrifices I made, I always told my parents that I wanted to be a high scorer and to place first in all my exams. I am happy that I achieved it,” she added with pride.
Despite facing stiff competition, Aanvi was determined to succeed. She recounted moments when peers dismissed the idea of reaching the top mark in the exam, which at times led her to feeling discouraged. However, the encouragement from her parents and teachers reinforced her belief that anything is achievable.
Her proud father, Ronil Prasad, shared his joy over Aanvi’s achievement, stating, “I am a proud dad. It was a great investment we made in our daughter’s education, and we have seen the results. As a parent, it’s a different feeling to experience such an achievement from our children.”
Looking ahead, Aanvi plans to enroll at Natabua High School next year, ready to take on new challenges. Notably, she is not alone in her success, as Viola Ravutubananitu from Tagitagi Sangam School in Ba also scored 491 marks, showcasing the high level of achievement among students in this examination.
This remarkable accomplishment highlights the importance of dedication and support in education. The hard work of both students and their families serves as an inspiring reminder that determination can lead to exceptional outcomes.
Overall, this article underscores the positive outcomes that result from commitment and perseverance, encouraging students everywhere to believe in their academic ambitions and strive for excellence.
