Thirteen-year-old Jone Seru from Nukuloa Sanatan Dharam School achieved victory in the under-14 boys 1500m final at the Ba Primary School athletics competition held at Churchill Park yesterday. He finished the race with an impressive time of 5 minutes and 19 seconds.

Seru’s success can be attributed to his disciplined training regimen, which includes running 6km every morning and afternoon. He led the race from the very beginning, maintaining his strong pace throughout the three and a half laps.

Originating from Naitasiri, Seru expressed his gratitude and happiness upon winning the gold medal. “I want to thank God for this gold medal. I do road runs every morning and afternoon, and I’m happy that it has paid off,” he stated.

His determination and commitment to training were clear as he confidently set the pace at the start of the race, securing his victory with ease.
