Rikshal Dayal, a 30-year-old entrepreneur from Wailevu, Labasa, is proving that age is just a number when it comes to starting a business. He recently launched his own law firm, Rikshal Dayal Lawyers, situated at Savilla House on Jaduram Street in Labasa Town.
Mr. Dayal invested $10,000 to establish his office, proudly becoming the first lawyer in his family after graduating with a Bachelor of Law from the University of the South Pacific in 2019. Prior to opening his firm, he spent six years working at Sarju Prasad Esquire, where he gained valuable experience and mentorship from his previous employer.
“Since childhood, I dreamed of starting my own law firm to serve the people in my hometown,” Mr. Dayal stated. He is acutely aware of the competitive legal landscape but expresses confidence in his ability to provide excellent service.
Acknowledging the risks that come with entrepreneurship, he remarked, “No matter what kind of business we do, there will always be risk involved, and I am fully prepared for it.” He encouraged others in Labasa to harness their skills and talents, particularly amidst conversations around local job scarcity, suggesting that self-employment could be a sustainable solution.
Mr. Dayal emphasized the rapid growth of Labasa Town and the increasing need for new entrepreneurs within the community. He also expressed gratitude to his family, wife, and in-laws for their support in launching his business.
The office will operate from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., employing one administrative staff member to assist in its operations.
This inspiring story of determination and community-focused entrepreneurship underscores the importance of local initiatives in fostering economic growth. Mr. Dayal’s journey encourages young professionals to take bold steps in their careers, proving that with hard work and dedication, dreams can indeed become a reality.
