Young Lawyer Opens Firm, Challenging Business Norms in Labasa

Rikshal Dayal, a 30-year-old from Wailevu, Labasa, has taken a significant step by launching his own law firm, Rikshal Dayal Lawyers, in Labasa Town. The firm officially opened its doors on Thursday and is situated at Savilla House, Jaduram Street, shop number 14. Mr. Dayal invested $10,000 to establish his office, marking a proud moment as he became the first lawyer in his family.

After earning his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of the South Pacific in 2019, Mr. Dayal spent six years working with Sarju Prasad Esquire, where he gained valuable legal experience. “I have always dreamt of having my own law firm to serve my community,” Mr. Dayal shared. He acknowledges the competitive landscape but believes in his capability to deliver exceptional legal services.

Mr. Dayal encourages others in Labasa, who might feel discouraged by job scarcity, to consider launching their own businesses and utilizing their skills and talents. He recognizes the town’s rapid growth and sees a strong need for new entrepreneurs to emerge and contribute to the local economy.

In expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the support of his family, wife, and in-laws in setting up the business. The law office will operate Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12 PM, with one administrative staff member assisting him.
