Rikshal Dayal, a 30-year-old from Wailevu, Labasa, is defying conventional wisdom by opening his own law firm, Rikshal Dayal Lawyers, located in Labasa Town. He inaugurated his office on Thursday at Savilla House on Jaduram Street, investing $10,000 in his venture.
A graduate of the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Law obtained in 2019, Mr. Dayal has accumulated six years of experience working at Sarju Prasad Esquire, under the mentorship of notable lawyer Sarju Prasad. As the first lawyer in his family, he has long dreamed of establishing his own firm to better serve his hometown’s community.
Aware of the competitive legal landscape, Mr. Dayal expresses confidence in his ability to provide exceptional services. He acknowledges the inherent risks involved in starting a business but remains committed to his entrepreneurial journey. Additionally, he encourages others in Labasa, especially those who feel there are limited job opportunities, to harness their skills and consider starting their own businesses.
Mr. Dayal observes that Labasa Town is experiencing rapid growth and emphasizes the need for new entrepreneurs to contribute to this development. He extends his gratitude to his family, wife, and in-laws for their support in launching his law practice. The office is set to operate from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 12 pm.
