Rikshal Dayal, a 30-year-old from Wailevu in Labasa, is breaking new ground by opening his own law firm, Rikshal Dayal Lawyers, in Labasa Town. Located at Savilla House on Jaduram Street, his firm officially opened on Thursday, following an investment of $10,000 to establish the office in shop number 14.

Mr. Dayal, who graduated with a Bachelor of Law from the University of the South Pacific in 2019, spent six years honing his skills at the law firm Sarju Prasad Esquire. As the first lawyer in his family, he has always envisioned running his own practice to serve his local community. “While I am fully aware of the competitive environment and other law firms around, I believe I have the ability to provide the best service,” he stated confidently.

Understanding the inherent risks of entrepreneurship, Mr. Dayal expressed his readiness to face challenges ahead. He also encouraged others in Labasa, where some claim job opportunities are scarce, to pursue their business aspirations and leverage their skills. “Labasa Town is growing rapidly and needs new entrepreneurs,” he added optimistically.

Gratitude was expressed to his family, wife, and in-laws for their support during this venture. The new law office will operate Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, and on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12 PM, staffed by one administrative assistant.

This inspiring story highlights the courage and ambition it takes to launch a new business, particularly in a competitive field. Mr. Dayal’s dedication to his community and belief in entrepreneurship could serve as motivation for others looking to make a difference in Labasa and beyond. His success could pave the way for more young professionals to follow in his footsteps, fostering economic growth and opportunities in the region.
