Thirteen-year-old Jone Seru from Nukuloa Sanatan Dharam School achieved a significant victory in the under-14 boys 1500m final at the Ba Primary School athletics competition held at Churchill Park yesterday, clocking an impressive time of 5 minutes and 19 seconds.

Seru’s rigorous training routine, which includes running 6km every morning and afternoon, clearly paid off as he took the lead early in the race and maintained it over the course of three and a half laps.

Hailing from Naitasiri, Seru expressed his sincere gratitude and happiness after winning the gold medal. “I want to thank God for this gold medal. I do road runs every morning and afternoon, and I’m happy that it has paid off,” he stated.

His determination and disciplined approach were clear as he set a confident pace from the beginning, securing a solid win by the race’s end.
