Monika Masi, a Year 4 student at Navala Catholic Primary School, achieved remarkable success by winning a gold medal in the U9 girls’ long jump event at the Ba Primary School athletics competition yesterday. The young athlete from Navala Village is now focused on the upcoming Chow Games in Suva next month, where she hopes to showcase her talents on a larger stage.
Although Masi is known for being soft-spoken, her determination shines through. “I want to thank God for the win. My aim is to go to Suva,” she expressed. With her impressive performance and strong ambitions, Monika is set to build on her success as she prepares to compete against the nation’s finest athletes.
