Today, 19,359 Year 8 students will take the Fiji Year Eight Examination at 717 centers across the country. Acting Minister for Education and Minister for Fisheries and Forests, Alitia Bainivalu, emphasized that this examination not only evaluates knowledge and skills but also reflects the students’ hard work and dedication.
Bainivalu acknowledged that preparing for exams can bring a variety of emotions, including excitement and anticipation. She encouraged students to have confidence in their studies, reminding them that this examination is just one step in their educational journey.
Assistant Minister for Education Iliesa Vanawalu echoed these sentiments by encouraging students to trust in their strengths and maintain a calm and composed attitude during the exam. He highlighted the importance of resilience and determination, urging Year 8 students to stay focused.
Both ministers appealed to parents, guardians, and teachers to offer vital support to help students concentrate during this important time.
