Boxer Maureen Neumia is encouraging women across the nation to participate in the sport. Neumia, who began boxing in 2019 with the support of her husband, Fred Chand, the promoter for South Pacific Boxing Promotion, voiced her enthusiasm for the sport yesterday.
“I’m urging women to explore boxing, as they are excelling in various other sports,” she stated.
The 37-year-old athlete is gearing up for her fight against Amo Wati on Saturday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. “I’ve been training diligently, and I hope everything goes as planned in the ring. Training with my son has made the process much easier,” she added.
Neumia also called on boxing fans to attend the event on Saturday, where three International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Asia Pacific titles will be contested.
