Water Works Update: Anticipated Improvements Ahead for Fiji’s Supply!

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has announced the successful completion of reconnection work between the Viria Water Supply and the Waila Water Treatment Plant. According to chief operating officer Seru Soderberg, the anchoring process commenced on Thursday, followed by connection and assembly work on Friday morning.

Soderberg explained that the anchoring process requires an overnight curing period. He added that, given the current progress, flushing, bleeding, refilling of reservoirs, and restoration efforts are set to begin the following morning.

WAF expressed gratitude to its customers for their patience and cooperation, especially for adhering to advisories to store water over the weekend. Soderberg addressed concerns regarding the ongoing water supply, noting that reservoir levels have not significantly declined. He emphasized that the WAF is managing valve operations to prolong the water supply for their customers.
