Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has pledged to connect 80 families residing in the Korovuto Settlement, located in Nadi, to Fiji’s water reticulation system. During a visit to the settlement on Saturday, he acknowledged the longstanding water issues that have plagued the community for over 13 years, highlighting the reliance on boreholes that provide unsafe water.

“We recognize that there is a significant concern regarding the quality of water these families have been using,” Mr. Rabuka stated. He reassured the residents that the government is actively working on plans to integrate them into the national water supply network. The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to solving such challenges and ensuring that all communities have access to safe and clean drinking water.

This initiative represents a significant step towards improving the living conditions for the families in Korovuto Settlement, signaling a positive change on the horizon for the community.

In summary, the government’s plans to connect these families to the safe water system not only address the urgent need for clean drinking water but also reflects a broader commitment to community welfare and infrastructure improvement.
