Assistant Education Minister Iliesa Vanawalu has stated that the water challenges faced by rural and maritime schools are largely beyond the Government’s control. He acknowledged that these water issues have persisted over time.

“We are trying to identify the best solutions for providing water to schools that experience prolonged dry seasons,” Mr. Vanawalu explained, noting the ongoing nature of the problem.

He mentioned that the ministry has collaborated with the Water Authority of Fiji to tackle this issue effectively. “We work closely together,” he emphasized.

Additionally, Mr. Vanawalu confirmed that all schools would receive a fresh water supply this week.
