The Fiji Police Force has issued a stern warning to the public against the use of laser pointers aimed at airplanes, highlighting that such actions jeopardize the safety of passengers and crew.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu expressed these concerns during a meeting with civil aviation authorities. He emphasized that the irresponsible use of laser lights near airports is a significant safety hazard.
ACP Driu reiterated that pointing lasers at aircraft poses a serious risk to everyone onboard. He urged anyone witnessing this perilous behavior to report it immediately by contacting their local police station at 917 or Crime Stoppers at 919.
