Vodafone Foundation’s Impact at Pacific Conference Sparks Inspiration

The Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation, dedicated to uplifting, empowering, and enriching lives, marked a significant event at their 5th Multidisciplinary (Pacific) Conference.

Held yesterday at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, the foundation granted $141,500 to 14 charities.

Celebrating a major milestone, the foundation has shown remarkable growth and impact in recent years, currently managing 10 impactful programs supporting 100 charities annually.

Overall, they have invested an impressive $50 million in social services, forming enduring partnerships with 1000 program charity partners and collaborating extensively.

Their efforts have also seen cooperation with over 2000 charity organizations, reaching 800 villages and supporting 400 schools, providing direct grants totaling $12 million.

Foundation chairman Lionel Yee emphasized that every grant, partnership, and initiative is driven by a mission to uplift, empower, and enrich lives.

Ivan Fong, CEO of Amalgamated Telecomm Holdings Group of Companies, was the chief guest at the conference. This year’s theme, “Catalysing Vitality: Innovations and Insights for Sustainable Wellbeing,” focused on integrating technology, legal frameworks, educational strategies, and community engagement to tackle health and societal challenges.

Mr. Fong outlined the conference’s objectives, which include identifying local and regional issues and exchanging ideas to develop solutions. He also highlighted the importance of enhancing digital connectivity, exploring and implementing digital solutions, social media strategies, and emerging AI technologies to improve the connectivity and efficiency of Pacific NGOs.
