Two local enterprises have joined forces to advocate for a cleaner and healthier Fiji. Vodafone Fiji and Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited have initiated a program named ‘I Recycle’ aimed at enhancing the cleanliness and health of the nation. This effort underscores Vodafone Fiji’s commitment to minimizing its environmental impact and promoting sustainable waste management practices.
During the program’s launch at the company’s headquarters in Suva, Vodafone Fiji’s acting chief executive officer, Rajnesh Prasad, emphasized the project’s significance. “Through this partnership, we aim to create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Fiji, starting with our very own head office in Tamavua,” Mr. Prasad stated. “By collaborating with Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited, we are not only bolstering local waste management initiatives but also inspiring a sense of responsibility and community engagement among our staff and customers.”
Amitesh Deo, founder of the Pacific Recycling Foundation, remarked that this program paves the way for greater business engagement in sustainable waste management and illustrates how collective efforts can lead to substantial benefits for both the environment and society.
