“Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation Makes Waves at 5th Multidisciplinary Conference”

The Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation, dedicated to uplifting and empowering communities, made a notable impact at their 5th Multidisciplinary (Pacific) Conference.

Hosted yesterday at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, the foundation granted $141,500 to 14 charities.

Marking a significant milestone, the foundation has announced substantial growth in recent years. It currently supports 100 charities annually through 10 impactful programs.

In sum, they have invested $50 million in social services, forming lasting partnerships with 1000 program charity partners and a large network of collaborators.

Their initiatives have engaged over 2000 charity organizations, reaching 800 villages and supporting 400 schools with direct grants amounting to $12 million.

Foundation Chairman Lionel Yee highlighted that every grant, partnership, and initiative stems from their mission.

“Our mission is to uplift, empower, and enrich the lives of those we serve,” he stated.

Ivan Fong, CEO of Amalgamated Telecomm Holdings Group of Companies, was the chief guest at the conference.

This year’s theme, “Catalysing Vitality: Innovations and Insights for Sustainable Wellbeing,” emphasized integrating technology, legal frameworks, educational strategies, and community engagement to tackle complex health and societal issues.

Mr. Fong outlined several conference objectives.

“The objectives were to identify and explore issues within our local communities and the Pacific, enabling us to develop solutions,” he said.

“Additionally, enhance digital connectivity, explore digital solutions, social media strategies, and emerging AI technologies to improve efficiency among Pacific NGOs,” he added.
