Village Leader Advocates Kava Cutback for Family Time and Youth Discipline

Ratu Ilisaniti Malodali, the Tui Nadogo, has urged villages in Nadogo, Macuata, to limit kava consumption to promote quality family time. He emphasized the importance of fathers being present at home to supervise and instill discipline in their children.

Ratu Ilisaniti highlighted the necessity of father figures in households, stating that they play a vital role in guiding children’s behavior and ensuring they are taught appropriate community conduct alongside religious principles. He expressed concern about children and youths becoming overly engaged in technology and criminal activities, which could undermine the village’s values of unity, peace, and development.

Looking ahead, Ratu Ilisaniti noted that the upcoming decade will be crucial in determining whether youths choose to pursue successful lives and take on national responsibilities. He stressed the need for young people to pursue education and stable jobs, warning them against falling prey to individuals who might lure them into drug trafficking.

In past statements, he cautioned the community against growing marijuana, advising them to concentrate on legal agricultural activities to enhance their income. Ratu Ilisaniti also called for greater family involvement in religious and traditional practices to foster a supportive environment for children, reinforcing the role of community-police partnerships in achieving these goals.
