Verata House has emerged as the champion of the 31st Druavesi Golf Tournament, which wrapped up yesterday at the Fiji Golf Club. In a competitive 4-man Ambrose format, Verata House achieved an impressive net score of 132, edging out last year’s champions, Rewa House, who finished in second place. Bau House claimed the third spot in this highly contested event.
The tournament attracted a total of 13 teams, including eight squads from Queen Victoria School Old Boys (QVSOB) and five teams from alumni associations of Marist Old Boys, Grammar Old Scholars, and Labasa College Old Scholars. Participants from QVSOB competed for the prestigious Druavesi Trophy, while alumni teams battled for the Druavesi Cup in the School of Origin Competition.
The event enjoyed robust attendance, with many alumni walking the course to cheer for their teams, fostering a lively atmosphere filled with camaraderie and support. Ratu Isoa Gavidi, captain of Verata House, proudly shared his thoughts on the victory, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and the significant backing from old boys: “This victory is a testament to the resilience, teamwork, and commitment of Verata House. It wasn’t just about skill on the course but also about the unwavering support of our old boys who turned out in numbers to cheer us on.
