Verata House has emerged as the new champions of the Druavesi Golf Tournament, capturing the title from the defending champions, Rewa House, during a thrilling competition held last Friday at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva. Verata House achieved an impressive overall net score of 132, narrowly defeating Rewa House, which secured second place with a net score of 132.75. Bau House followed closely in third, finishing with a net score of 138.25.
Ratu Isoa Gavidi, the captain of the victorious Verata House, expressed his elation over the team’s remarkable achievement. He emphasized that their victory was not only a reflection of their skills on the golf course but also showcased the strong sense of resilience, teamwork, and commitment among the members of Verata House. Gavidi credited the support from alumni who showed up in large numbers to cheer for the team, highlighting their crucial role in their success.
The Druavesi tournament also featured participation from various alumnae, including the Marist Old Boys (MOB), Labasa College Old Scholars, and Suva Grammar Old Scholars, who competed in the School of Origin competition. The MOB Team One emerged as the winners in this category with a net score of 57.25, followed closely by MOB Team Two with 58, and Labasa College Old Scholars, securing third with a score of 62.185.
This victory not only brings pride to Verata House but also reinforces the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among different houses and alumni, fostering lasting connections and community engagement.
