The University of the South Pacific Students’ Association (USPSA) has stated that it will refrain from intervening in a dispute exclusively between USP Management and a former employee, highlighting the importance of adhering to legal protocols for any potential resolution.
USPSA President Lepani Naqarase expressed respect for the established procedures and regulations outlined in the university’s Ordinances and Statutes.
In response to concerns raised by some members, executives, including those from the Laucala Branch, engaged in discussions with senior management, including the Vice-Chancellor and other key figures, to address arrangements made for affected students.
Naqarase mentioned that the USPSA also met with students impacted by the issue to listen to their concerns.
He emphasized that the Association’s primary goal is to promote and protect the welfare of its students.
Following these discussions, USPSA is confident that management has implemented measures to ensure uninterrupted services for the students involved.
Naqarase assured that the association would continue to monitor the agreed arrangements and maintain regular communication with management, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia.
