The University of the South Pacific Students’ Association (USPSA) has announced that it will not intervene in the dispute between USP Management and a recently terminated employee, emphasizing the need to adhere to legal procedures for any redress.

USPSA President Lepani Naqarase expressed respect for the appropriate processes outlined in USP’s Ordinances and Statutes. He mentioned that following concerns raised by some members, executives from the association, along with officials from the university’s senior management team, including the Vice-Chancellor and other key figures, met to discuss arrangements made for students impacted by the situation.

Naqarase noted that the USPSA listened to the concerns of students temporarily affected by the matter. He emphasized that the top priority for the association is to promote and safeguard the welfare of its students.

After these discussions, the USPSA expressed satisfaction with the management’s measures to ensure that services for affected students continue without disruption. Naqarase confirmed that the association would maintain active communication with the university management, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia, to monitor the agreed arrangements.
