Newly inducted officers of the Fiji Police Narcotics Bureau were reminded to maintain strong ethical standards and uphold police principles. During the induction ceremony, Narcotics Bureau director Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fisi Nasario emphasized that the bureau is a department where values and principles are often tested.
“You will be tested as time goes on,” SSP Nasario stated. “The principles, values, and ethics will be tested, and I urge you to consider what you are asked to do, who you are tasked to protect, and why you were selected from among the rest.”
He highlighted that more than 90 percent of the population are law-abiding citizens who are concerned and willing to help. The Government and other institutions share these concerns and are eager to take action. Furthermore, foreign counterparts provide valuable guidance, assistance, and support. Despite the challenges, SSP Nasario affirmed that the bureau will continue to push forward, adapting their strategies based on resources and capabilities while never giving up.
