Ratu Kadavulevu School continued their impressive streak by winning the Vodafone Deans Trophy Under-17 title last Saturday. This team has maintained an unbeaten record since the Under-14 level.
In an interview with SUNsports, head coach Usaia Naqicitabua expressed that the team is gearing up for the next season, with aspirations to reclaim glory for Delainakaikai. He emphasized the importance of solid defense during the halftime break, urging the players to avoid making critical mistakes in crucial moments of the match.
Naqicitabua highlighted the team’s preparation and composure, particularly in the final ten minutes of the game, which played a significant role in their victory. He noted that the strength of the team lies in the unity and camaraderie among the players, mentioning that although around 12 original members have departed, the current squad has successfully built upon that legacy.
Looking ahead to the next year, Naqicitabua acknowledged the long-standing goal of the school to regain the Under-18 title. He recognized the challenges that lie ahead but remains determined to train hard and strive for success.
