The Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) has recently expanded its Loyalty Program through new partnerships with SSUP Farm Machinery and Equipment, as well as Star Bright Energy (Fiji) Pte Ltd, increasing the total number of program partners to 20. Chief Executive Raj Sharma announced that SSUP will provide a 10 percent discount on all products, while Star Bright Energy will offer a 7 percent discount on all quoted wholesale products.
This initiative reflects SCGF’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the benefits available to sugar cane growers. Since the program’s inception, it has issued loyalty cards to 1,656 growers, which can be used to access discounts at a wide range of participating businesses, including pharmacies, medical labs, hardware stores, and telecommunications providers.
In a notable extension, the offer of free Loyalty Cards has been prolonged until June 30, 2025. After this date, existing SCGF customers will pay a nominal fee of $10 for a three-year card, while non-SCGF growers will pay $20.
The program’s design aims to enrich the livelihoods of sugar cane farmers by providing them with advantageous discounts and fostering a supportive network. Previous efforts in expanding partnerships have included collaborations with businesses like NEWWORLD IGA and Vinod Patel, facilitating improved access to essential goods and services. The positive sentiment surrounding these initiatives underlines the program’s role in promoting economic resilience in the agricultural sector.
By continuing to establish beneficial alliances, SCGF is not only empowering individual farmers but is also working towards a more sustainable agricultural community in Fiji, showcasing a hopeful outlook for the future of sugar cane farming in the region.
