Registrations have commenced for the 9th South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE), which will take place from May 9 to 10, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, situated in Nadi, Fiji’s thriving tourism center. This event is recognized as the largest and most exhilarating tourism event in the Pacific, and registration is now available for tourism operators and stakeholders.

Under the theme “Unity in Diversity: Exploring the Pacific’s Hidden Gems,” SPTE 2025 is anticipated to attract over 150 international visitors, establishing itself as a unique gathering. The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is hosting this event in conjunction with Fiji’s Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MTCA), providing an exceptional platform for sellers from the Pacific to promote their offerings to global buyers.

Attendees will experience a vibrant mix of national tourism offices, inbound tour operators, airlines, hoteliers, resort owners, transport operators, and activity providers from SPTO’s 20 Pacific island member nations. Participants can expect to meet representatives from renowned destinations, including American Samoa, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Marshall Islands, Niue, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Rapanui Island, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Wallis & Futuna.

Moreover, international buyers—which include travel wholesalers, agencies, planners, and online travel agencies—are set to attend from over 25 key global markets such as Australia, New Zealand, North America, the UK, Europe, China, and Asia, seeking to build partnerships with Pacific tourism providers.

Christopher Cocker, Chief Executive Officer of SPTO, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship of Fiji Airways and Rosie Holidays, who have confirmed their partnership for SPTE 2025. “This collaboration reflects our sponsors’ commitment to invigorating tourism in the Pacific region,” he stated.

Mr. Cocker highlighted the opportunity that SPTE offers to sellers for connecting with international buyers and showcasing the distinctive and authentic experiences that the Pacific has to offer. “This event serves as a one-stop shop for buyers to discover exciting new opportunities to enhance their travel offerings,” he added.

Cocker invited participation, emphasizing that May 2025 will bring a dynamic showcase of the Pacific and offer a vibrant journey through its diverse cultures and tourism experiences. As SPTE 2025 registrations opened on October 18, 2024, he expressed confidence that the event will bolster global visibility for the Pacific’s tourism sector and generate significant opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Promising to deliver more than just business, SPTE 2025 aims to foster enduring relationships, cultural exchange, and promote sustainable tourism throughout the Pacific. With a focus on sustainability, the event will also underscore the importance of preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage that distinguish the Pacific region.
