Unlocking Financial Potential: Vanuabalavu Expo Impresses Merchant Finance

The Vanuabalavu Expo held in Lomaloma, Lau, received positive feedback from Merchant Finance Limited.

Sakiusa Boletawa, the manager of the contact centre, praised the expo, emphasizing the unique market opportunities it presented. “Vanuabalavu stands out due to its current performance and the goals they pursue both individually and within the community regarding financing,” Boletawa stated.

He highlighted the engagement of the attendees, who showed keen interest in business growth through capital, loans, and investments. Boletawa noted that the expo generated significant interest, which Merchant Finance will evaluate, mentioning the numerous vehicles they had previously financed and their potential to finance more, thus supporting residents of the outer islands.

Boletawa also pointed out the strong cash flow on Vanuabalavu Island and expressed his surprise at the high level of financial literacy among its people. He observed various businesses that could benefit from Merchant Finance’s MSME support services and introduced their Marama and Vanua Finance products, designed to assist women in MSMEs.

The company has been heavily involved in financing transportation on the island, particularly trucks and twin cabs, and aims to continue this support. Boletawa acknowledged the solid financial records maintained by the island’s residents, indicating a large market potential for future investments.

In addition to financial advice, Merchant Finance also engaged with students from Adi Moapa Secondary School, discussing potential career paths.
