The Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA) in collaboration with the University of the South Pacific (USP) will host an executive workshop led by Professor Keith Houghton, a renowned academic and author celebrated for his innovative teaching methods.
The workshop, titled “Evidence-Based Thinking,” will provide participants with essential insights and practical tools. According to FICA, the session aims to equip attendees with skills to critically assess information, make informed decisions, and tackle complex challenges.
Professor Houghton, who holds advanced degrees from esteemed institutions like the University of Western Australia, the University of Melbourne, and the London School of Economics and Political Science, will bring extensive experience to the workshop. As the chief strategist of the Higher Education and Research Group (HERG), he is recognized for guiding individuals and organizations toward improved decision-making processes.
Tailored for executives and professionals tasked with significant decision-making roles, the workshop will utilize case studies to teach participants how to:
• Formulate better questions to extract relevant information
• Efficiently search for and assess evidence
• Make consistent decisions based on reliable evidence
• Evaluate the credibility of information sources
