Unity in Diversity: The NFP’s Vision for a Multicultural Future

The National Federation Party (NFP) is celebrating its multicultural and diverse membership, according to leader and Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad. During the party’s annual convention in Sigatoka, Prof Prasad emphasized that the NFP has consistently promoted unity, collaboration, and multiracialism.

“We have remained steadfast in these principles,” he stated. He highlighted the importance of consensus, dialogue, and shared leadership among various groups and communities. Referring to the current Coalition Government, he noted the history of cooperation with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and expressed hope for a brighter future, despite past challenges.

Prof Prasad observed that the public is moving away from previous politics of fear and misinformation. “We have advocated for unity and community cohesion. The NFP is now a genuinely multiracial party, with two out of three Members of Parliament representing the iTaukei community. The diversity seen in our leadership and today’s attendees reflects the future of our nation.”
