Unity Fiji Party Holds Annual General Meeting, Gears Up for 2026 General Election with Integrated Transformation Plan

Last week, over 300 supporters gathered for Unity Fiji Party’s Annual General Meeting in Tavua, where Savenaca Narube, the Party Leader, urged unity as they approach the 2026 General Election.

Narube emphasized on the party’s effort to promote an integrated transformation plan aimed at developing the resource-based sector and facilitating economic diversification. The plan is also designed to reduce the widening economic inequality prevalent in the society. Upon successful implementation, it has the potential to shape the future of the country, he claimed.

As the former Central Bank Governor, Narube took the opportunity to spotlight on the recent political events. He criticized political factions on the verge of de-registration for backtracking on their promises to the public and allegedly prioritizing personal financial gains.

According to Narube, the public has been putting up with disloyalty from their elected leaders for too long, which has come at a great cost. He urged, “It is time to change. It is now Unity Fiji’s time!”

The annual convention ratified the party’s audited financial statement for 2023 and introduced amendments to its Constitution with an aim to enhance disciplinary procedures and governance. At the same time, Noleen Billings and Eliki Lesione were elected to the Party’s Executive Board.
