Key figures in the Cabinet and senior members of the People’s Alliance have reaffirmed their support for Prime Minister and Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka.

In an unusual move, the Prime Minister’s social media team shared a statement featuring Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica, Minister for Lands Filimoni Vosarogo, Minister for Agriculture Vatimi Raiyalu, Minister for Women and Children Lynda Tabuya, senior PAP official Colonel Sakiusa Raivoce, Minister for Fisheries and Forests Alitia Bainivalu, and Minister for Rural Development Sakiasi Ditoka, expressing their backing for Rabuka.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Rabuka acknowledged the existence of a faction within the Party that aims to separate from the People’s Alliance and form a new party ahead of the 2026 General Election. He emphasized that those who wish to leave are welcome to do so.

“However, it is important to note that the People’s Alliance remains strong, united, and fully dedicated to fulfilling our commitments to the Fijian people. We will not allow distractions. Our objectives are clear, and our mission is ongoing,” Rabuka stated.

The Prime Minister is currently on his first official visit to New Zealand, where he is scheduled to meet his New Zealand counterpart. He will also participate as the chief guest at the Fiji Day Celebrations with the Fijian community in Aotearoa.

Next week, he will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa, focusing on efforts to ensure a more prosperous, secure, sustainable, and equitable future for all citizens, especially the youth.
