Uniting Against the Drug Crisis to Save Our Villages

Sakiusa Tubuna, the Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, has identified drug abuse, especially marijuana and methamphetamine, as a significant issue impacting villages. He made these remarks while closing the Nabobuco District School fundraising Rugby 7s tournament in Naitasiri.

During the event, Tubuna warned that drug use threatens the well-being of villages and their development, leading to suffering among women and children. He emphasized the need for a united approach to combat the spread of these harmful substances in communities.

“We must tackle this problem collectively; the Government cannot do it alone. If we stand united, we can prevent the widespread harm that these substances would bring to our communities,” he stated.

The two-day fundraising event was seen as an important step toward raising funds for a multipurpose hall for the school. Tubuna expressed his gratitude to the players and organizers who contributed to the success of the tournament and thanked the Nabobuco community for their support in this fundraising effort.
