United Against Drugs: A Call to Protect Our Villages

The Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sakiusa Tubuna, has expressed concern over the increasing issue of drug abuse in villages, particularly highlighting the problems associated with marijuana and methamphetamine. His remarks came during the closing ceremony of the Nabobuco District School fundraising Rugby 7s tournament in Naitasiri.

Tubuna emphasized that drug use poses a significant threat to village development and can lead to suffering, particularly among women and children. He called for a united approach to combat the spread of these dangerous substances in communities, stating, “We must tackle this problem collectively; the Government cannot do it alone, but if we stand united, we can prevent the widespread harm that these substances would bring to our communities.”

He also recognized the two-day fundraising event as a vital step toward achieving the goal of building a multipurpose hall for the school and expressed gratitude to all the participants and organizers who contributed to its success. Tubuna thanked the residents of Nabobuco for their support of the school’s initiative.
