United Against Drugs: A Call to Action for Our Villages

Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sakiusa Tubuna, has highlighted the increasing issue of drug abuse in villages, specifically targeting marijuana and methamphetamine. He made these remarks while officiating the closing ceremony of the Nabobuco District School fundraising Rugby 7s tournament in Naitasiri yesterday.

Tubuna emphasized that drug use poses a significant threat to village development and particularly affects women and children. He called for a united community effort to combat the infiltration of these dangerous substances.

“We must address this challenge together; the Government alone cannot tackle it, but if we stand together, we can mitigate the potential harm that these drugs would bring to our communities,” he stated.

The Assistant Minister noted that the two-day fundraising event was a vital step toward the construction of a multipurpose hall for the school, focusing on collaborative efforts. He extended his appreciation to all the players and organizers involved in making the event a success and acknowledged the support of the Nabobuco community for the school’s initiatives.
