The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums, according to assistant coach Samisoni Navatu. Despite their recent 23-22 upset victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, a strong contender for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, Navatu believes there is still significant room for growth.
In an interview, Navatu described the match as a tough battle and expressed gratitude for the win. He praised his players for their efforts, stating, “We came here with the goal to win and we did that.”
Navatu noted that there was confusion regarding the final score when officials initially declared RKS the winner. He expressed relief when the decision was overturned, emphasizing that the team still has more work ahead. He highlighted the age diversity within the team, where some players are still 17 years old while others are 18, yet they successfully collaborated to achieve their victory.
He is urging their loyal fans to turn out in large numbers to support the team in the upcoming semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School this Saturday.
