The Under-15 rugby team from Marist Brothers High School (MBHS) honored the late father of their No. 8 player, Senitiki Kuruvakadua, following their 22-7 victory against Gospel High School (GHS) in the Vodafone Deans Trophy semi-finals.
In an interview with SUNsports on Saturday, MBHS U15 head coach Jone Temo attributed the win to divine intervention.
“I reminded the players at halftime to enhance their line speed and defensive maneuvers against a strong Gospel side,” he remarked.
Looking ahead to the final match, Temo emphasized that they would focus on improving their strength and conditioning as they prepare to face Suva Grammar School.
“Most of our players are athletes, so their fitness level is good. We have a few minor injuries, but we hope everyone will be fit for the final.”
