Two men are scheduled to appear in the Magistrates Court in Labasa today, facing charges in two separate cases of obtaining financial advantage by deception.
In the first case, a 24-year-old man is accused of obtaining $957 from the victim’s account on October 10, 2022. The victim only discovered the unauthorized transaction after noticing the money had been automatically transferred to an unfamiliar number. The accused allegedly withdrew and used the money on the same day. The victim reported the incident to the Labasa Police Station.
In the second case, another 24-year-old man from Bulileka is accused of dishonestly obtaining $389 from a victim by transferring the amount without the victim’s knowledge. The matter was reported at the Valelevu Police Station.
