The Director of Public Prosecutions’ Office has initiated charges against two minors, aged 13 and 15, on several charges of rape and attempted rape. According to the ODPP Rape and Sexual Offences report for June, it was revealed that a 15-year old boy is facing charges for allegedly raping and attempting to rape a 5-year-old girl. In a separate case, a 13-year-old boy was charged with raping a 12-year-old boy.
In the same month, 15 individuals were indicted on a combined total of 32 counts of sexual offenses. These included 21 counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault, one defilement charge, and four sexual assault charges. Of the accused individuals, two were underage. Significantly, in six of these incidents, the victims and perpetrators were related.
