The Tui Vuda, Ratu Eparama Tavaiqia, marked his 94th birthday on Wednesday at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Nadi.
The celebration included traditional leaders from Vuda, members of chiefly families, and residents of Viseisei, honoring the Tui Vuda’s 14 years of leadership in his community.
Expressing his gratitude, he stated how fortunate he felt to have reached this milestone. “I thank God for giving me life that I can be here and celebrate my birthday with you today. I am grateful for the leadership and the guidance that at this age I can still lead my vanua,” he remarked. He also extended his appreciation to those who have shown him love and support throughout the years.
His spokesperson, Ratu Meli Tora, highlighted that Tui Vuda is the only surviving eldest iTaukei paramount chief. “May God continue to bless his life, his leadership, and his vanua,” Ratu Meli shared.
